Position Overview
This role is essential for executing fundamental financial operations, with the potential to engage in more intricate financial tasks based on the candidate's expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Processes: Identify the necessity for accrual entries, formulate amortization schedules for prepaid and deferred items, reconcile general ledger account balances, and prepare correcting entries discovered during reconciliation.
  • Compliance and Analysis: Ensure that existing accounting practices align with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and recommend modifications to maintain compliance. Analyze financial outcomes, including hydrocarbon inventories, purchases, sales, and associated expenses.
  • Monthly Reporting: Conduct monthly analyses comparing current results to previous outcomes and actuals to estimates. Identify influencing factors and prepare various reports, including price/volume and gross margin analyses.
  • Transaction Oversight: Scrutinize purchase and sales contracts to guarantee accurate execution of transactions. Review pricing and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy prior to finalization in the financial system.
  • Inventory Reconciliation: Analyze discrepancies in inventory and collaborate with operations to resolve issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of inventory at various locations.
  • Special Projects: Undertake report summarization and analysis as requested, providing management with insights and recommendations for enhancements.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis.
  • Skills: Proficient in Excel, including the use of Lookups and Pivot tables. Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with SAP or similar financial software, including report generation capabilities.
