Metco, Steel Reel Specialist

As a Production Associate - Welding at Sonoco, you will play a critical role in supporting production operations. This position requires a strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and proficiency in operating robotic welding equipment.

• Perform tasks in accordance with corporate safety rules and guidelines
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation to 5S standards
• Perform quality checks on parts using inspection tools
• Program robot to perform new tasks and components
• Access programs, set tools, and operate welding robot
• Assemble materials, load and unload fixtures and parts
• Verify product and raw material conformance to specification(s)
• Weld and/or fabricate product based on BOM, Route Sheets, Drawings, and Verbal Instructions
• Perform WIP inspection as required to achieve a quality product
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on robotic weld machine
• Perform operator maintenance per established schedules

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Must perform skills test conducted by Calhoun College
• Must be able to attend all applicable training classes
• Maintain robotic cell up time % when established
• Ability to train Operator Level I
• Perform basic DTM on robotic cell
• Fulfill other duties as assigned
