Position Summary:
The Production Trainee role is an entry-level position focused on the Panel Finishing Cell and Solid Finishing Operations. This position involves ensuring quality standards are met and preparing components for distribution. The ideal candidate must be able to follow verbal instructions in English and thrive in a collaborative, safety-focused environment. Occasional overtime may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Understand and apply Bobrick's 4 Grade Quality System, including the ability to identify and articulate various defect levels.
  • Maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Follow established engagement protocols.
  • Unpack and organize materials from bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Coordinate with the Partition shop, Supply Chain, and Shipping departments regarding orders and inventory.
  • Sort and arrange materials on racks or shelves according to specified criteria such as size, type, or product code.
  • Operate tape machines for securing packages and pallets.
  • Utilize banding and wrapping equipment for packaging components for shipment.
  • Use a miter saw to adjust packing materials and ensure all paperwork is completed prior to shipping.
  • Gain proficiency in operating panel finishing machines.
  • Learn the operation of Hot Press and Glue Spreader machinery.
  • Be open to working alternate shifts as needed.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:
  • High school diploma or GED, with one to three months of relevant experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate routers, files, and other shop equipment as trained.
  • Experience in woodworking, cabinetry, or CNC operations is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage work and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to meet production demands and deadlines.
  • Safe operation of machinery.
  • Problem-solving skills to address operational issues.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes.
  • Understanding of company policies and effective communication.
