Job Summary

Cary Academy seeks a skilled and experienced Motorcoach Driver to transport students, staff, and faculty to various destinations, including field trips, athletic events, and other school programs. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a 45-foot motor coach bus in accordance with state and federal regulations, ensuring the safety of all passengers and adhering to strict maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition and complete all necessary documentation, including driver logs and DVR reports.
  • Work collaboratively with the lead adult trip chaperone to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and inclusive experience for all.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as safety protocols, customer service, and diversity and inclusion.
Requirements
  • Valid CDL with a passenger endorsement
  • DOT-approved medical certification
  • Meet Cary Academy's background check and driving record requirements
  • Ability to drive on overnight trips as needed
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of CDL driving experience
  • Motor coach experience preferred
Work Environment

This position requires regular attendance and flexibility to work a variety of schedules, including school days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and overnight trips. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the success of Cary Academy's transportation program.
