Position Overview:
ProLocums is seeking a qualified Hematology/Oncology Physician to provide both inpatient and outpatient care. The role requires coverage that includes call responsibilities. Below are the essential details:
Work Schedule:
- Clinic Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with a consistent schedule of every other week or ideally three weeks each month.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Must be Board Certified in both Hematology and Oncology.
- Possession of an active KY medical license or IMLC is mandatory.
Role Responsibilities:
- Seeking ongoing coverage with a commitment of two weeks per month, maintaining consistency in scheduling.
- Responsibilities include outpatient care during clinic hours and inpatient rounding or call duties as necessary.
- Work in an infusion center, administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, with nursing staff managing the administration of chemotherapy.
- Oversee the infusion center operations, ensuring patient care is prioritized.
- Focus on new hematology consultations and follow-ups for established hematology and oncology patients, including those on stable treatment regimens.
- Care will be provided primarily for adult and geriatric patients; pediatric care is not included.
- Support for stable patients requiring continuity of care in the absence of their primary oncologist, ensuring treatment plans remain unchanged.
- Handle new and follow-up hematology consultations, with complex cases referred to a staff physician.
- Assistance will be provided by a medical assistant for patient rooming.
- Patient case distribution: 75% hematology and 25% oncology.
- No admission responsibilities are required.
Compensation: The remuneration for this position is highly competitive at $500 per hour.
