Tax Examination Technician

This position involves detailed paraprofessional support duties related to the examination of tax returns and/or the investigation of alleged tax fraud performed by Internal Revenue Agents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assistance to the examination team in conducting research and analysis of taxpayer information.
- Locate, search, and document specific information from records of individuals, corporations, banks, brokerage firms, etc.
- Prepare, verify, and assemble work papers, schedules, and exhibits, and related documentation that reflect the presentation of facts and the analysis performed.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Undergo a review of prior performance/conduct and an income tax verification.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check).
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
