About the Role

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for gathering, assembling, and tabulating financial data; keeping financial records and ledger accounts up-to-date; processing documents involved in financial transactions; performing financial reconciliations and postings; making arithmetical calculations; verifying extensions; checking invoices against purchase orders; and preparing financial and statistical reports.

Responsibilities
  • Process invoices for payment to vendors by checking invoices for accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and entering data into the system.
  • Provide standard administrative, technical, or production services that support others, and/or organize data and information that is used and analyzed by others.
  • Process check and refund requests: check requests for accuracy; resolve problems; enter data into the system; process checks; review and distribute checks to each campus.
  • Answer phone, mail, and walk-in inquiries; research questions; provide information.
  • Analyze/review vendors' statements for accuracy and check credit balances; request cash refunds on credit balances.
  • May prepare manual checks; distribute/mail checks; open mail; work on special projects as needed.
  • Compose letters, memos, or reports of a routine or recurring nature.
  • Explain information related to day-to-day or recurring issues.
Qualifications

We're looking for candidates with an Associate's degree (two-year program or two to three years of college) or equivalent formal training, with accounting coursework being highly desirable. You should have good written and oral communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and be detail-oriented and extremely organized with the ability to learn new programs and procedures quickly.
