Job Summary

Prokatchers is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN to fill a Med Surg position in a reputable healthcare institution in Waverly, Iowa. As a Travel Nurse RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate total nursing care for patients, participate in patient and family teaching, and provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
  • Evaluate medical information, as well as provide direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
  • Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpret and record measurements.
  • Monitor patients' vitals and report adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Answer questions and educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
  • Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records.
  • Adhere to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.
Requirements
  • Med Surg experience: 2+ years (Preferred)
  • Current RN License issued by the Iowa State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
