We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our team at Pearle Vision in Novi/Taylor/Livonia. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care through proper diagnosis and treatment of conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system.
Key Responsibilities- Prescribe Medications and Treatments: Prescribe medications, low vision rehabilitation, vision therapy, spectacle lenses, and contact lenses to patients.
- Counsel Patients: Counsel patients regarding surgical and non-surgical options that meet their visual needs related to their occupations, avocations, and lifestyle.
- Eye Exams and Diagnoses: Provide vision services, including eye exams, and diagnose eye conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
- Prescribe and Fit Eyeglasses and Contact Lenses: Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses to patients.
- Low Vision Aids and Vision Therapy: Provide low vision aids and vision therapy to patients.
- Diagnose Eye Conditions: Diagnose eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and conjunctivitis.
- Prescribe Medications: Prescribe medications for certain eye conditions, as allowed according to State guidelines.
- Pre- and Post-Operative Care: Participate in pre- or post-operative care for people who need surgery.
- Effective Communication: Effectively communicate with patients to get detailed case histories and offer advice and reassurance to patients about vision-related matters.
- Referral Communications: Write referral communications to doctors and act as a liaison with other medical practitioners when needed.
- Sales Targets: Meet sales targets with regard to selling spectacles or contact lenses.
- Education: Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school.
- Examinations: Successful completion of the National Board examination and a National, Regional, or State clinical examination.
- Skills: Business acumen, self-discipline, and the ability to deal tactfully with patients.
