We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at ECHN. This is a full-time opportunity that will provide the right candidate with a challenging and rewarding experience.

About the Job

This Respiratory Therapist role is responsible for providing critical care services to patients in various settings, including ICUs and step-down units. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments as ordered by physicians, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status, identifying areas for improvement and developing plans to address them.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Operate complex respiratory equipment, including ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP systems, and oxygen analyzers.
  • Perform arterial blood gas analyses, interpreting results and making informed decisions based on data.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with healthcare teams, ensuring seamless care transitions.
Requirements
  • RRT or CRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care, with current licensure to practice in the State of Connecticut.
  • At least one year of skilled respiratory experience within the last two years, preferably in critical care settings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using electronic medical records and other relevant software applications.
Benefits
