Education and Qualifications:

  • A graduate of a certificate or degree-granting program in a health science field, such as cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, or radiologic technology.
  • 18 months of experience in a licensed field, unless a graduate of a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) program.
  • American Heart Association BLS/ACLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Successful completion of the EKG competency exam.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties with proficiency in clinical and technical expertise.
  • Provide complete documentation and hemodynamic monitoring of patients during procedures.
  • Meet pre/post procedural care of the patient, including patient education.
  • Successfully remove arterial and venous sheaths.
  • Circulate in the room during all catheterization/EP procedures and anticipate physician needs.

Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and communication levels with employees, supervisors, physicians, administration, and the public.
  • Perform independently within scope of practice.
  • Demonstrate unit competencies on a yearly basis.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment.
