Licensure Requirements:

Educational Background and Experience:

  • Entry-level Master's or Doctorate degree (or Bachelor's degree prior to 2004) in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Adheres to continuing education standards as required by professional guidelines.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in various diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
  • Able to recognize the needs and behaviors of diverse patient age groups.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois.
  • CPR Certification and BCLS required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases.
  • Direct interaction with bodily fluids.
  • Physical tasks including pushing, pulling, lifting, and transferring patients.
  • Ability to lift significant weights as defined by Department of Labor standards.
  • Capability to assist, escort, and respond to patient needs for extended durations.
  • Willingness to work during weekends, holidays, and/or evening hours as necessary.
