Yard Foreman

Job Summary:

Curtis Lumber is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Yard Foreman to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our yard staff and ensuring the efficient operation of our building materials distribution center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance and direction to yard staff, delegate tasks, and monitor performance to ensure high-quality results.
• Operations Management: Oversee the daily activities of the yard, including receiving, stocking, and shipping building materials.
• Employee Development: Challenge and develop the performance of yard staff, provide feedback, and hold direct reports accountable for their goals and job responsibilities.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and shipping building materials.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, respond to customer inquiries, and resolve any issues in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Proven track record of success in leading high-performing teams and driving business results.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, customers, and management.
• Ability to lift 50-80lbs regularly and work in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
