Job Title: Elementary Social Studies Teacher

Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic Elementary Social Studies Teacher to join our team as a contracted, hourly W2 employee for the upcoming school year. As a Social Studies Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire a love for history, geography, and civic engagement among our elementary students, fostering critical thinking and empathy for diverse cultures and perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging and culturally relevant social studies lessons aligned with elementary curriculum standards, bringing history and geography to life for our students.
  • Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore social studies topics, ask questions, and engage in meaningful discussions.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, primary sources, and multimedia resources to make social studies concepts accessible and relevant to students of all backgrounds.
  • Assess student understanding through a combination of formal and informal assessments, providing constructive feedback and support for student growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate social studies concepts into interdisciplinary units and projects, fostering connections between social studies and other subject areas.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to share student progress, highlight achievements, and promote the value of social studies education.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to expand your knowledge of social studies education and stay current with best practices.

Contracting Details: This is a full-time contracted position for the upcoming school year. Teachers will be employed on a W2 basis and will receive hourly pay. Hourly rates will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
