The Practical Nurse Supervisor collaborates closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure the efficient functioning of the clinic.

This role involves overseeing the workflow between Medical Assistants and healthcare providers, ensuring optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities
This position encompasses a diverse range of nursing services delivered to clinic patients under the guidance of a registered nurse or physician. Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising daily operations of Lead Medical Assistants and Medical Assistants.
  • Conducting direct patient care tasks as delegated by the Clinical Nurse Manager or Provider, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and clinic policies.
  • Implementing, assessing, and documenting patient and family education based on individual needs.
  • Assisting Providers during patient examinations and diagnostic procedures.
  • Collecting specimens, performing phlebotomy, and conducting EKGs.
  • Maintaining compliance with clinic regulations and ensuring a well-organized clinical environment.
  • Administering medications and immunizations under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager or healthcare provider.
  • Providing triage for medical inquiries both over the phone and in person.
  • Monitoring and reviewing incoming patient results for any abnormalities.
  • Communicating changes in patients' physical and emotional conditions to the Provider.
  • Applying appropriate patient care protocols to meet the needs of all age groups.
  • Engaging in consistent communication with the Clinical Nurse Manager, team members, and providers to enhance patient care quality.
  • Incorporating cost-effective practices to optimize resource utilization.
  • Fostering a positive work environment that promotes staff morale and commitment.
  • Participating actively in staff meetings and assisting in the orientation of new employees.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A current Illinois LPN License and completion of a state-approved nursing program, including a pharmacology course.
  • Two to five years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in outpatient care, with the knowledge and skills to cater to diverse age groups.

Bilingual candidates are preferred.
