Payson City is seeking a reliable and vigilant Crossing Guard to ensure the safety of school children during arrival and dismissal times. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for monitoring school crosswalks, directing traffic, and assisting children in crossing the street.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor school crosswalks and direct traffic to ensure safe passage of children
  • Assist children in crossing the street, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Maintain a high level of visibility and awareness of the surrounding area to anticipate potential hazards
  • Use a handheld stop sign to alert drivers to the presence of children pedestrians

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of Utah traffic laws and emergency procedures
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position that requires flexibility and adaptability. Hours will vary based on need during the school year, with a focus on during-school hours.
