Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing services to students in a school setting, including administering medications, performing treatments, and providing individualized care.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
  • Attend health plan meetings and school conferences to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to stay up-to-date on the latest nursing practices and technologies.
  • Exhibit behavior that supports and promotes students' rights and overall well-being.
  • Follow Aveanna and school board policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students.
  • Recognize and report signs of substance abuse, physical abuse, or neglect.
  • Provide a clean and safe environment within the school, including the safe use of equipment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures.
Additional Requirements
  • Continuing Education as required by state.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Good organization and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
  • Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
  • Must be able to sit and climb stairs.
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity.
  • Must have a strong sense of smell and touch.

  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments, which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
