Job Description

Frederick Derr & Company is seeking a seasoned Pipeline Manager to oversee and coordinate the activities of a pipe crew engaged in the construction of water/sewer projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing construction projects, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project Oversight: Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to ensure safety and compliance with specifications.
  • Resource Allocation: Estimate material and staffing requirements to complete jobs efficiently.
  • Team Management: Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of staff to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Communication: Coordinate work activities with other construction project requirements and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Logistics: Order materials or supplies as needed.
  • Site Management: Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment using measuring and marking equipment.
  • Record Keeping: Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data.
  • Task Assignment: Assign work to employees based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
  • Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety requirements to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience managing a pipe crew.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to implement and enforce safety standards.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
