Job Summary

College of the Canyons is seeking highly qualified adjunct faculty members to join our Engineering department. As an adjunct instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the academic excellence of our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach engineering courses at the college level, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve curriculum, programs, and services.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees to contribute to the college's mission and goals.
Qualifications
  • Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Engineering.
  • OR - Master's in any field of engineering.
  • OR - Bachelor's in any of the above AND master's degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry, or geology.
  • OR – Bachelor's in a field of engineering AND a professional engineer's license.
  • OR - Equivalent (none accepted).
Working Conditions

Adjunct faculty members may be assigned to teach at various campuses, including the Valencia and Canyon Country campuses. Teaching assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes.

Compensation

Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $88.30 per hour.
