Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health
  • Autonomous Practice designation issued by the state Boards of Nursing and Medicine
  • Must possess and maintain prescriptive authority in the state
  • BLS
  • DEA License
  • Valid state Driver's License

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in community mental health with persons with serious and persistent mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance use and co-occurring disorders

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation to agency staff about clinical and medical services
  • Conduct assessments/evaluations of psychiatric illnesses
  • Monitors client's response to treatment including medication side effects and adverse reactions
  • Document response to treatment; enter orders for diagnostic tests, medications, and other therapies
  • Completes prior authorizations and paperwork as requested
  • Timely completion of medical record documentation in accordance with the state ACT Model, DMAS, and CSB policies, procedures, regulatory standards and guidelines
  • Provide consultation and guidance for Primary Care Screening and Monitoring program
