As a Coder Associate at Corewell Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of professional charges and revenue. This position involves abstracting data from medical records, coding diagnoses and procedures, and educating providers and staff on coding guidelines and conventions.
Key Responsibilities- Consistently meet quarterly productivity and quality standards
- Complete mandatory coding education and adhere to official coding guidelines
- Assign diagnoses and procedures for billing, data retrieval, and research purposes
- Optimize codes for reporting and generate APCs for all outpatient records
- Abide by the Standards of Ethical Coding and adhere to official coding guidelines
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 of 5 required certifications: CCS, CPC, COC, RHIT, or RHIA
