About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team at AZCO INC. in the United States. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates and proposals for various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present lump sum bids, proposals, unit costs, and quantities for diverse projects.
  • Consult with clients, procurement, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates.
  • Analyze historical data to provide recommendations for cost estimating procedures and identify cost trends.
  • Assist in analyzing completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with estimating methodology and produce high-quality estimates.
  • Review documents for gaps and overlaps in scope of work and assemble material and labor costs for clients and proposals.
  • Conduct solicitation and pre-qualification tasks for small and disadvantaged businesses and subcontractors.
  • Develop project summary schedules and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
  • Provide preliminary pricing for indirect and general conditions and evaluate fee, contingency, and escalation.
  • Review commercial terms and conditions with legal counsel and propose mitigation strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3 years of direct project estimating experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and software experience in Quotesoft, Accubid, Oracle, and PowerBI.
  • Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, and various construction disciplines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
