Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Travel Cath Lab Technologist to join our team in Key West, Florida. As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will work closely with cardiologists, radiologists, and other medical staff to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab.
About the Role:
- Prepare the cath lab environment for procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and tools are sterile, functional, and properly set up.
- Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and consent forms, before the procedure begins.
- Assist in preparing patients, setting up monitoring equipment, and ensuring proper positioning for optimal procedure results.
- Provide patient education and reassurance, explaining what will happen and answering any questions.
Responsibilities:
- Assist cardiologists and other physicians during cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiological studies, and other interventional procedures.
- Handle sterile instruments, such as catheters, balloons, and stents, during the procedure, ensuring correct placement and maintaining a sterile field.
- Operate X-ray fluoroscopy equipment and assist with imaging during diagnostic tests, such as angiograms, to visualize blood vessels and heart function.
- Monitor vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to the physician.
- Administer medications under physician direction, ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure.
Requirements:
- Cath Lab Technician Certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment.
- 2+ years of experience in a Cath Lab setting.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits:
- $95,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
- 13 weeks contract, with opportunities for extension.
- 8 hours shifts, 40 hours per week.
