Position Overview:
At SSM Health, we believe in the transformative power of presence, and we are currently seeking a dedicated Surgical Instrument Specialist to enhance our Sterile Processing Team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of surgical instruments through meticulous handling and processing.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Surgical Instrument Specialist, you will:
  1. Perform thorough decontamination, cleaning, sorting, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
  2. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of instrument functionalities and their proper handling.
  3. Work collaboratively under the guidance of the Instrument Room Lead Technician to ensure all instruments are processed accurately and efficiently.
  4. Utilize personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols during all procedures.
  5. Participate in preventive maintenance and quality assurance checks to uphold the highest standards of patient care.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital or surgical instrument environment is preferred.

Work Environment:
This position requires adherence to safety and infection control policies, and you may be required to wear protective clothing. You will be working in a dynamic environment that emphasizes teamwork and professional development.
