Job Summary

The Quality Manager will oversee the development and implementation of quality management systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. This role will involve direct and indirect leadership of a team, with a focus on quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality management systems, ensuring compliance with FAA, EASA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Lead a team of quality professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective quality management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement quality improvements.
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics and reports, providing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including 14 CFR Part 145 and 14 CFR Part 91.
  • Partner with site leadership to establish training programs, ensuring employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Lead and execute quality improvement initiatives, working with stakeholders to identify and implement effective root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action plans.
  • Collaborate with GE Flight Test Operation to ensure proper quality issues management, minimizing impacts on safety and quality.
  • Manage and ensure adherence to the DWFP program.
  • Embraces and integrates Lean principles into operations, utilizing proven toolkits for daily management and problem-solving.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in a highly regulated quality management system in aircraft operations, aviation maintenance support, aircraft flight test, engine development testing, or flight testing.
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible and off-shift hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and support operations at offsite locations.
  • Ability and willingness to fly aboard an experimental aircraft, including participation in development flight tests.
  • Able to obtain and maintain FAA Class-3 medical certificate or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet all requirements of Zero Tolerance DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Familiarity with aerospace test environment; prior flight test experience preferred.
  • Experience leading teams directly or indirectly; team champion and advocate, with effective leadership/team building skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, champions efforts to ensure that team members are safe.
  • Ten or more years of diversified maintenance experience with large transport category aircraft.
  • Three years of experience in the capacity of approving aircraft for return to service.
  • Three years of experience as a supervisor or lead of aircraft maintenance.
  • Prior experience as a quality manager in the aerospace/aviation industry.
  • Experience with maintenance planning and maintaining technical records for a large transport category aircraft.
