Job Title: Peer Recovery Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Recovery Specialist to join our Mobile Response Team in Sykesville, MD.

Job Summary:

The Peer Recovery Specialist will provide mobile crisis services, including ongoing peer assessments, crisis intervention techniques, and stabilization, as well as developing crisis plans for clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mental health issues and a passion for helping individuals heal and recover.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide peer support to consumers and families
  • Assist in performing on-scene assessments, including danger, suicide, and environmental assessments
  • Perform crisis intervention and stabilization, including de-escalation, crisis planning, and implementation
  • Create appropriate referral recommendations and develop treatment plans using available agency and community resources
  • Partner with local law enforcement and other community providers
  • Complete documentation in a thorough and timely manner
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two (2) years of related experience
  • Peer Recovery Specialist Certification (CPRS) or willingness to be certified within a one (1) year of employment
  • At least two (2) years in full recovery AND three (3) years of lived experience with mental illness, substance abuse, or a co-occurring disorder
  • Valid driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance
