Job Title: Route Supervisor

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a skilled Route Supervisor to oversee the daily activities and performance of our route drivers. This role is responsible for ensuring safe services to customers, managing daily routes, and enforcing quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily activities and performance of route drivers
  • Train and direct employees to improve overall performance
  • Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards
  • Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns)
  • Monitor and track employee attendance and performance management documentation
  • Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections
  • Plan, distribute, and follow up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards
  • Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims
  • Conduct employee observations to ensure safety and procedures are being followed
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills; working knowledge of Windows applications, Microsoft applications
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Knowledge of the area with the ability to read maps
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and resolve problems
  • Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations
  • Ability to drive a truck with manual transmission
Working Conditions:
  • Must have at least a valid Class B CDL
  • Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
  • Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years
  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste
  • Ability to work flexible hours; overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
