Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with Design and Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with our design and cross-functional teams to execute the company's vision while achieving impeccable fit, construction, and design aesthetics.
- Partner with Creative Design Team: Partner with our creative design team to achieve aesthetic excellence while adhering to a production timeline and action calendar.
- Collaborate with Technical Design Director: Collaborate with our Technical Design Director and cross-functional partners to land on appropriate fit and functional intent for each product design.
- Manage Technical Requirements: Manage all technical requirements to develop and execute processes from product development to production.
- Create and Maintain Tech Packs: Create and maintain detailed tech packs including specs, tolerances, grading, detail sketches with construction/stitching, and fit evaluation comments.
- Conduct Fit Sessions: Conduct fit sessions on live models and mannequins to evaluate samples for fit, measurement, construction, pattern shaping, and functionality.
- Provide Technical Direction: Provide technical direction, internally and externally, on corrective actions needed to bring samples to brand fit and styling.
- Issue Grading Guidelines: Issue grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval.
- Measure and Evaluate Garments: Measure and evaluate garments from proto sample through TOP samples.
- Participate in Wear Fit Testing Programs: Participate in wear fit testing programs.
- Maintain Close Partnership with Production Teams: Maintain close partnership with production teams to maintain on-time delivery throughout the pre-production process and proactively monitor seasonal workload.
- Extensive Knowledge of Knits, Wovens, and Outerwear Silhouettes: Extensive knowledge of mens and womens knits, wovens, outerwear silhouettes, construction, sewing techniques, related textiles, and trim.
- Technical Understanding of Body Growth: Must have technical understanding of body growth and how it applies to fit.
- Knowledge of Pattern Making and Construction: Knowledge of pattern making, construction, industry fit knowledge, and grading.
- Comprehensive Understanding of Product Engineering: Comprehensive understanding of product engineering, development, manufacturing, and child safety guidelines.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to lead fittings, take detailed and accurate notes, and possess superior organizational and written communication skills.
- Mathematical Accuracy: High accuracy in math skills for correct spec revisions.
- Proficiency in Software: Proficiency in Flex PLM, Adobe products, Microsoft Office, and 3D Browzwear (a plus).
- Time Management and Prioritization: Excellent time management skills and effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Education and Experience: Graduate with a degree in Fashion Technical Design/Patternmaking and years of working experience in technical design required.
