Clinical Leader

UVA Health System is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Charge Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support the clinical and operational needs of our ambulatory care areas.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead day-to-day operations to ensure safe throughput and access to care.
- Collaborate with leaders to ensure staffing meets patient needs and adhere to established guidelines.
- Accurately document labor management software to ensure fiscal stewardship.
- Provide guidance and resources to team members to ensure adherence to policies and clinical practices.
- Facilitate access to appropriate levels of care and escalate clinical/operational issues as needed.
- Support a calm and productive working environment.
- Encourage team members to participate in professional development activities and problem-solving.
- Support patient experience through team member-identified needs, service recovery, and problem-solving.
- Coordinate support services to address patient needs and engage with the team, patients, and visitors to optimize the patient experience.
- Promote closed-loop communication and collaboration between team members, clinical disciplines, and ancillary departments.
- Ensure regulatory and safety standards are met in the care environment.
- Facilitate team huddles and visual management boards to promote communication.
- Support setting specific work to achieve local and organizational quality goals and use of standard work.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing BSN/MSN program.
- RN Clinician 2 or higher with 6 months of experience on the unit or previous Charge Nurse experience from another department/organization.
- Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
Physical Demands:
- Standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, and bending/stooping.
- Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
- Ability to lift/push/pull lbs.
- May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
