Nurse Anesthetist II PRN Position

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Anesthetist to provide pre-anesthesia, anesthesia, and post-anesthesia services in a clinical, research, and academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality anesthesia care to patients in a variety of settings, including cardiac, thoracic, and major vascular surgery.
  • Participate in research activities and contribute to the educational imperative of the Department of Anesthesiology.
  • Provide clinical and didactic instruction to nurse anesthesia students, with a focus on patient care in complex surgical cases.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate data to inform anesthetic decisions and improve patient safety.
  • Act as a resource person to students and other healthcare professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Lead and identify opportunities for practice changes and performance improvement.
  • Actively participate in meeting quality and safety targets and initiatives, reporting near misses and identifying solutions.
  • Implement department strategies to achieve financial targets and mentor others to do the same.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nurse Anesthetist.
  • Ability to function independently and exercise judgment in interactions with physicians, interprofessional care team, and patients and their families.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
  • Ability to move, manipulate, and safely operate anesthesia equipment during the administration of all types of anesthesia to all sizes of patients.
