Behavioral Therapist

We are seeking a qualified Behavioral Therapist/Mental Health Practitioner to provide direct 1:1 therapy and group therapy to children and adults affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

This is a part-time position with a PM schedule, Monday-Friday, 12:30PM-4:45PM. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young adults.

• Provide direct 1:1 therapy and group therapy to children and adults affected by ASD
• Work in a group setting or 1:1 with clients
• Maintain a level of professionalism with clients and their families

• Desire and passion for providing mental health services
• Ability to work in a group setting or 1:1 with clients
• Ability to maintain a level of professionalism with clients and their families
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a DHS Background check
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Previous experience with ASD and ABA Therapy
• Holds a bachelor's degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and has at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to clients with mental illness
• Has at least 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to clients with mental illness
• Is a graduate student in one of the mental health professional disciplines and is formally assigned by an accredited college or university to an agency or facility for clinical training
• Holds a master's or other graduate degree in one of the mental health professional disciplines from an accredited college or university

• Frequent kneeling along with bending and stooping (when toileting)
• Ability to respond quickly-get up from floor-run-walk fast (for elopements)
• Physically engaged for 7+ hours (fast paced/on the go)
• Strength required to implement physical holds when safety of the client or staff is at risk
• Shuffling your feet (related to safety care)
• Standing/be on your feet for several consecutive hours many days
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Minnesota Autism Center (MAC) provides therapeutic services for children ages 18 months to 21 years who have ASD. Our services are center-based and in-home, and include speech and occupational therapy, assessment and diagnosis services, and individual and family therapy.
