Job Description

At Pfeiffer Vacuum Valves & Engineering, we are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to ensure operational goals are achieved through continuous improvement of equipment, materials, processes, and manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document processes in the manufacture of stainless-steel chambers and vacuum components to increase manufacturing throughput and efficiency.
  • Read sketches, drawings, and engineering blueprints to prepare effective manufacturing procedures, process routings, bills-of-material, raw material specifications, time and labor estimates, and specific operational instructions.
  • Review and rewrite existing routers to increase manufacturing productivity and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and propose new manufacturing processes or improvements to current ones.
  • Train production, assembly, and quality assurance personnel on approved manufacturing, test, and inspection procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum of 36 months in related manufacturing engineering experience, with 12 months specific experience in precision metals fabrication and machining.
  • Hands-on, basic machining skills, and/or thorough knowledge and understanding required.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a high-noise level machine shop environment, with 50% of the time spent inside a climate-controlled office and 50% in the machine shop. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required, and eye and hearing protection may be necessary.
