Job Summary

Goshen Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sports Medicine Specialist to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in preventing, diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating orthopedic injuries and conditions in our designated patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Athletic Training Services: Coordinate and deliver athletic training services on-site at area schools, working closely with the Manager of Orthopedic Services, school Athletic Directors, and team physicians.
  2. Initial Injury Evaluations and Rehabilitation: Conduct thorough initial injury evaluations, supervise and monitor rehabilitation programs, and provide agreed-upon practice coverage and game/contest coverage.
  3. Patient Safety and Injury Prevention: Ensure patient adherence to safety and injury prevention techniques, prepare accident reports as required, and evaluate and screen athletes for potential injury due to previous conditions.
  4. Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain complete and accurate files on contact with students, ensuring timely and appropriate evaluation of injury and/or illness sustained by students engaged in athletic activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program. Master's degree from a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program is preferred.
  • Experience: Six months as an athletic trainer is preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
  • Certifications: Must be certified by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer and hold Indiana Athletic Trainers Licensure or obtain upon hire. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is also required.
