Position Overview:
ROLE SUMMARY:
Responsible for the safe and effective management of steam plant boilers (up to 4,000 BHP) along with other associated equipment.
Operates and regulates utility panels that oversee equipment to sustain utility services for the plants, with a preference for knowledge in Delta-V operations.
Oversees, maintains, and troubleshoots the Boiler Plant Operation Control system to guarantee optimal functioning of the multi-boiler plant.
Develops trends and graphs to identify and monitor failures within the control system.
Troubleshoots electronic and digital controls; adjusts and calibrates boiler controls and gauges.
Performs routine maintenance on Plant boilers and related apparatus, including pumps and drives, in accordance with the standards set by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
Ensures that boilers operate within designated pressures and temperatures, maintaining water levels according to the guidelines provided by the American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA).
Interprets blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Completes work orders and preventative maintenance documentation to record tasks performed.
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with departmental personnel and management regarding matters related to boiler plant operation controls.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Five years of experience in maintenance of power and heating hot water boilers and their controls of various sizes.
Familiarity with testing and calibration tools, including volt/amp meters, manometers, gas leak detection meters, and Hart communication devices.
Must possess a Third Class Power Engineer's License issued by the National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc. (NIULPE).
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Positions in this classification may necessitate the ability to lift up to 100 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.

This position requires in-person performance at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option.
