Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and courteous Dining Room Server to join our team at Preswick Glen. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our residents, ensuring a positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and clear dining areas, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for residents.
  • Explain menu options to residents, highlighting food preparation and ingredients.
  • Take meal and beverage orders from residents, using knowledge of menu items and food preparation.
  • Serve meals and beverages to residents, adhering to established rules of etiquette in a formal setting.
  • Check with residents throughout the meal to ensure their needs are met, replenishing beverages and offering additional items as needed.
  • Offer dessert items, coffee, and tea upon completion of the meal.
  • Accurately account for charges to resident accounts using our Point of Sale system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a high school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

This position requires regular contact with residents, families, and guests, as well as collaboration with staff members from all departments. You will work in a modern kitchen and dining area, with access to modern equipment.

This role involves walking and standing for extended periods, with potential exposure to normal kitchen hazards such as wet floors, cuts, and burns. You will be expected to follow safe work practices in accordance with our housing complex's health and safety policies.
