OVERVIEW

Become a vital member of our team as a Lead Early Childhood Educator within the Nisqually Indian Tribe's Birth-to-Five Head Start initiative. We are committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere for children from infancy to three years, focusing on their comprehensive growth in health, nutrition, and education. In this role, you will be instrumental in executing developmentally appropriate curricula, building strong connections with children and their families, and upholding a professional environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary duties of this position encompass:
  • Overseeing and interacting with children enrolled in the Birth-to-Five Head Start program
  • Incorporating curriculum elements into everyday activities
  • Designing and executing lesson plans that reflect diverse backgrounds
  • Encouraging social, emotional, and cognitive growth through interactive experiences
  • Customizing activities to cater to the individual needs of each child
  • Ensuring adherence to program standards and regulations
  • Collaborating with families, colleagues, and community resources
  • Maintaining precise records and engaging in ongoing professional development
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) certification or equivalent
  • Prior experience in early childhood education
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Food Handling
  • Flexibility in working hours and possession of a valid driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Awareness of cultural diversity and experience with Tribal communities
SKILLS
The ideal candidate will possess:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
