Crawford Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Ambulatory Surgery department. As a Surgical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of surgery patients, including admission, pre-operative, intraoperative, pain, and post-operative evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized teaching plans to ensure patients receive comprehensive education on pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Prioritize patient care and manage the overall patient load, collaborating with other departments as needed to provide interdisciplinary care.
- Administer pre-operative medications, start IV lines, and label medications for surgical procedures.
- Monitor and revise pain management plans as needed, ensuring patients receive effective treatment.
- Provide pre/post-operative care in Surgical Admissions and the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Function as a circulator in the Operating Room, ensuring equipment is properly checked and maintained.
- Document patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Current Professional Licensure Required
- Current IL RN License Required
- BLS Required
- ACLS Required within 6 months
- PALS Required within 1 year
- Nursing minimum 2 years Preferred
- Rotation in call schedule with ability to be on-call within 30 minutes
- Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate EMR programs
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently in a team environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
