Camping Grounds Caretaker

At Vista Recreation, we are seeking a highly skilled Camping Grounds Caretaker to join our team.
About the RoleThis is a seasonal, part-time position that requires a strong customer service focus and excellent communication skills. As a Camping Grounds Caretaker, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality recreational experience for visitors at our campgrounds.
You will implement operational tasks, including basic recordkeeping and fee collection, facility maintenance, and grounds upkeep. This role involves working with minimal supervision and being able to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate courteousness and provide excellent customer service to all visitors.
- Perform administrative tasks, including basic recordkeeping and fee collection.
- Maintain facilities and grounds, including cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking of restrooms, emptying trash containers, and replacing liners.
- Rake and groom sites and public areas, maintain a litter-free facility, pick up micro-trash, and maintain outlying areas such as trails, outposts, and rental cabins.
- Register campers, collect fees, and sell retail items such as firewood, ice, and concession goods.
- Process revenues and fee collection data using Company approved forms and procedures.
- Familiarize yourself with local points of interest, nearby facilities, and local rules and regulations.
- Report problems and any unsafe or hazardous conditions as discovered.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work in an environment of extensive public contact.
- Basic manual labor abilities, including the ability and willingness to clean and sanitize facilities with various cleaning agents and chemicals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic recordkeeping experience, including money handling.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, including regular evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to lift 20 pounds on a frequent basis.
- The ability to move safely over rough and uneven terrain.
- The ability to work in extreme weather.
- Able to tow own RV (where applicable) in and out of campgrounds in emergency situations.
