Overview:
The Surgical Technologist role is crucial in providing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, primarily functioning in the scrub role, and catering to individuals of various age groups. Become a part of our dynamic healthcare team and contribute to a stimulating medical environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently scrubs surgical cases within own specialty and assists in other areas with minimal guidance.
- Maintains proficiency in equipment setup and operation, seeking assistance when necessary.
- Supports the circulating nurse under direct supervision.
- Prepares for surgical procedures effectively, anticipating the needs of both patients and the surgical team.
- Upholds a safe environment by following aseptic techniques and institutional policies.
- Engages in clear communication with patients, healthcare staff, and physicians.
- Actively participates in educational sessions and ongoing training.
- Serves as a knowledgeable resource for clinical inquiries and updates protocols as required.
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, or enrollment in a certified Nursing Program to become an RN or 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience is essential.
- Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within six (6) weeks of employment.
- Completion of Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter abuse training is required within three (3) months of employment.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is necessary.
