We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As a member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care, perform technical procedures, and maintain a sterile environment in the procedure suite of the Fertility Center.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist surgeons and teams with proper positioning and preparation in procedure spaces.
- Establish and maintain a sterile field and aseptic technique for oocyte retrieval, embryo transfers, and other procedures.
- Report any breaks in sterile technique and follow up accordingly.
- Prepare instruments for cleaning and terminal sterilization, and transport them to the designated area.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain equipment and supplies for surgical procedures and recovery space.
- Promote patient safety and quality by adhering to NPSG, HIPAA, and AAAASF guidelines.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of operating room experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program through NBSTSA.
- Certification exam must be taken and passed within 12 months of completion of surgical technologist program.
