Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Pharmacy Manager, the Staff Pharmacist executes essential pharmacist responsibilities. This role ensures that pharmacy operations align with departmental protocols and comply with state and federal regulations. Collaborates with Medical Office administration to facilitate the efficient provision of pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducts standard pharmacist activities, including the preparation and distribution of medications; assesses prescriptions for potential overdoses and harmful substances, packaging and labeling prepared medications, and maintaining accurate records of both legend and controlled substances.
Delivers Pharmaceutical Care to our members, which encompasses prospective, concurrent, and retrospective drug utilization evaluations, screening for drug allergies, monitoring for drug interactions and duplications, and following up with healthcare providers as necessary, along with providing patient counseling.
Engages with physicians and allied health providers as needed to enhance care quality and value; educates medical staff on cost-effective treatment options and medication utilization objectives (e.g., target drug initiatives and formulary adherence). In collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager, trains and guides new pharmacy staff on departmental policies and practices. Offers drug-related education for pharmacy personnel and other Health Plan staff and providers. Participates in patient education initiatives and assists in the creation of educational resources as needed. Maintains effective inventory management and purchasing practices. Serves members with professionalism and efficiency, fostering member satisfaction and loyalty. Collaborates with clinical pharmacists within the medical office.Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (BS) from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
License, Certification, Registration
Pharmacist License (Georgia) required upon hire
Basic Life Support Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated customer service skills as evidenced by a Customer Service Assessment.
