Job Summary:
The Patient Access Specialist plays a vital role in the success of Bothwell Regional Health Center by ensuring seamless patient registration and billing processes. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills to work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Registration and Verification: Register all patients with accurate verification of patient and insurance information, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
- Order Management: Scan and file physician orders received via fax or in-person, maintaining a secure and organized system.
- Administrative Support: Provide relief to the cashier and PBX operator as needed, ensuring continuity of services.
- Account Review: Conduct daily selection reports to verify accuracy on past accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Customer Service: Offer exceptional customer service to patients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Additional Duties: Perform other assigned tasks as required, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Patient Access department.
Requirements:
- Education: High school graduate with a focus on general business, computer knowledge, medical terminology, and excellent customer service skills.
- Licensure/Certification: Not applicable.
- Work Experience: General office experience, preferably with insurance claims knowledge, and the ability to operate various office machines.
