Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cheese Department Supervisor to join our team at Leprino Foods. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Cheese Department, ensuring the highest quality products are produced while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members to ensure production goals are met
  • Monitor and control product quality, department safety, and department efficiency
  • Plan and schedule daily staffing needs to maximize labor efficiency
  • Lead and coach team employees in technical training, safety, quality, communications, performance recognition, and internal employee development
  • Implement plant safety programs to ensure compliance and a safe working environment
  • Oversee the sanitation program effectiveness to ensure food safety standards are met
  • Monitor team operations and make recommendations for labor and manufacturing efficiency, cost savings, and quality improvements
  • Execute the Cheese Department's financial performance goals to assure that a quality product is provided at the least possible cost
Requirements
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience
  • Proficient computer knowledge, with familiarity or ability to learn SAP or other manufacturing computer systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within the dairy industry or a food manufacturer
