Job Title: Intervention Specialist Assistant On-Call Substitute

At Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Intervention Specialist Assistant On-Call Substitute to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Intervention Specialist Assistant On-Call Substitute will provide support to students with developmental disabilities in a classroom setting, assisting with daily living skills, transportation, and supervision. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with daily living skills, including feeding, toileting, and lifting
  • Transport and supervise students on school grounds and during community outings
  • Implement classroom management procedures and strategies to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in educational activities during instruction and assist with planning and preparation of daily activities
  • Communicate effectively with families and staff members to ensure seamless support for students
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Certificate
  • Experience working in a classroom setting with young children or youth in a Special Education setting
  • Ability to lift and transfer students safely
