Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Concrete Foundations Project Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations on various concrete construction sites. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and ready to undertake a variety of tasks while fulfilling the key responsibilities of the supervisory role. Effective communication and relationship-building with team members are essential, as is the ability to execute all duties associated with this position while being accountable for additional tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Safety Management
Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and guidelines for personnel on-site.
- Possess a thorough understanding of applicable safety standards and enforce adherence among all workers.
- Identify potential safety hazards prior to project mobilization and collaborate with the safety team to devise preventive measures.
- Familiarize all team members with the locations of nearby medical facilities and ensure they are informed.
- Address safety violations promptly and escalate issues to management if necessary.
- Prioritize safety alongside quality and productivity in all operations.
- Implement and uphold the company's safety and health protocols.
- Review and discuss safety plans regularly during team meetings.
- Integrate safety considerations into daily planning and operations.
- Resolve any on-site issues that may impact safety or project timelines.
- Maintain a safe work environment for all personnel and stakeholders.
Project Planning
Coordinating the planning of concrete formwork activities in collaboration with project management.
- Review all project documentation thoroughly, including drawings and specifications.
- Document any unique project details and highlight critical instructions for clarity.
- Calculate necessary concrete quantities and review scopes of work.
- Participate in constructability reviews and provide input on project strategies.
- Assist in developing project schedules and determining resource needs.
- Conduct site inspections and engage with clients during pre-construction meetings.
Ensuring that all necessary materials and equipment are on-site prior to project commencement.
- Coordinate with the equipment management team to secure required tools and machinery.
- Set up project offices and ensure utilities are operational.
- Organize the site layout for efficient workflow and material staging.
Procurement
Managing the procurement and scheduling of materials essential for daily construction activities.
- Maintain accurate records of material inventories and equipment allocations.
- Expedite orders and communicate any delays to project management.
- Develop short-term schedules to track material needs and lead times.
Overseeing the availability and performance of personnel to meet project requirements.
- Facilitate the hiring process for craft-level workers as needed.
- Supervise assigned craft-level workers and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other supervisors to allocate labor resources effectively.
Working closely with project management to ensure successful completion of concrete formwork tasks.
- Assist in the layout and execution of construction activities in accordance with project specifications.
- Monitor and address any discrepancies in project documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and support during construction activities.
- Coordinate with equipment operators to prepare job sites for construction operations.
- Report any issues that may affect safety, quality, or project timelines to management.
