About the Role:

Sumner Mental Health Center is seeking a licensed therapist to work in Crisis Services. As an Outpatient Crisis Therapist, you will provide crisis screens and counseling, pre-authorizations for Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities (PRTFs), jail consultations, and liaison work with the court system. You will also provide mental health treatment and documentation, as well as mobile crisis services under the direction of the Crisis Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide crisis screens and counseling to individuals in need
  • Pre-authorize PRTF admissions and provide necessary documentation
  • Consult with law enforcement and provide crisis intervention services
  • Liaise with the court system to ensure timely and effective treatment
  • Provide mental health treatment and documentation to clients
  • Participate in mobile crisis services to provide emergency support

Requirements:

  • Licensed therapist in good standing with the State of Kansas
  • Experience working in crisis services or community mental health
  • Electronic medical record/computer proficiency
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced crisis environment
