Automotive Service Advisor
Full-Time Position: 5/6 Day Work Week
Monday – Saturday
Job Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a high level of service, skill, eagerness to grow, teamwork, and the ability to set and achieve both personal and collaborative goals. We equip our team with the necessary tools to satisfy our customers. A strong Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and a passion for assisting customers are essential.
- Schedule service appointments and collect customer and vehicle information in advance when feasible.
- Welcome customers promptly and courteously, gathering essential vehicle details.
Accurately document customer vehicle concerns on repair orders. - Conduct test drives with customers or refer to a technician to verify identified issues.
- Review service history, inspect vehicles, and suggest additional required services.
- Educate customers on vehicle maintenance and emphasize the importance of adhering to manufacturers' specifications.
- Provide detailed and accurate written estimates for labor and parts.
- Establish a "promised time" for service completion, coordinating with the dispatcher as necessary.
- Obtain customer signatures on repair orders and provide copies for their records.
- Determine the customer's payment method, securing credit approval if needed.
- Inform the dispatcher of incoming work and track repair progress throughout the day.
- Communicate any changes in estimates or promised completion times to customers, explaining costs and time requirements thoroughly and obtaining proper authorization for additional repairs.
- Implement and maintain a service marketing strategy.
- Review repair orders to ensure completion, noting any additional work and authorization, and properly finalize repair orders.
- Ensure vehicles are parked in designated areas, securely locked, and keys are stored correctly.
- Keep service department forms, menus, and pricing guides current.
- Explain completed work and associated charges to customers.
- Implement quality control measures to minimize return visits.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction standards.
- Manage phone inquiries related to appointments and ongoing work.
- Inspect vehicles for bodywork, inform customers of necessary repairs, and provide estimates for bodywork.
- Oversee the cleaning and preparation of new and used vehicles.
- Maintain a professional appearance and ensure cleanliness of the work area.
Qualifications:
2+ years of prior service advisor experience
1 year of experience in a dealership environment.
