About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at IMI Industrial. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing parcel handling systems that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage 3D CAD systems to engineer material handling systems in compliance with customer specifications.
  • Review and create as-built drawings to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in firm engineering meetings with customers and suppliers to discuss technical details and lead technical discussions.
  • Produce detailed mechanical installation drawings and create detailed Bills of Material for purchasing equipment.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure custom equipment is provided per design specifications.
  • Collaborate with vendors to review equipment drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Produce and/or compile installation details, including supplier installation drawings and manuals, for the field.
  • Travel to job sites to verify field conditions and report project status to the Project Engineer as required.
  • Design parts or platforms required for material handling systems and provide other required engineering tasks as necessary.
Requirements
  • BS in a technical discipline (ME, EE, other engineering/CAD).
  • 4-6 years of experience with projects in the parcel space.
  • Experience on parcel projects.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD Systems (Inventor, SolidWorks, PTC CREO), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid knowledge of the advanced functionality of 3D CAD Systems.
  • Flexibility to transition between several projects.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a detail-oriented environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
