Safety and Compliance Manager

Job Summary:

Perdue Farms is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team at our Rockingham, NC facility. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-the-job training and follow-up on hazardous communication, safety, ergonomics, and other subjects with associates in all Processing Departments.
  • Conduct daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) audits and report findings to the Safety and Operations teams, including corrective actions and re-training needs.
  • Assist the Safety Manager in interviewing associates and gathering information on accidents and near misses.
  • Attend bi-weekly safety meetings, PSM meetings, or other safety-related meetings as required.
  • Assist the Safety Manager in responding to associate needs and concerns for safety issues as they arise.
  • Assist the Safety Manager by taking and posting meeting notes for the Safety Committee meetings.
  • Maintain oversight and training for OSL positions on Day and Night Shift.
  • Assist in Corp Safety Audit and Paperwork documentation.
  • Maintain oversight for Housekeeping Group.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred, but a combination of degree and experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in safety and compliance.
  • Strong communication, math, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

The normal climate-controlled office environment requires the ability to communicate on the telephone and use standard office equipment. The ability to move freely throughout the facility and travel to remote company and customer locations for audits and training is also required.
