ROLE SUMMARY:
This position involves conducting echocardiograms in accordance with established departmental protocols to ensure high-quality imaging. The specialist will assist with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and stress tests, providing critical images that aid physicians in accurate patient diagnosis. Responsibilities include identifying issues and implementing necessary interventions, including the reporting of urgent findings. Prioritization of study completion will be based on patient acuity, preferences, and collaboration with nursing and other support services. Additionally, the role includes providing EKG and Holter monitoring services when the echocardiogram workload allows. The specialist will ensure EKGs are performed with correct lead placement, minimal interference, and accurate patient data. Holter monitors will be set up and scanned, delivering tracings that support diagnostic efforts by physicians.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Required - Graduate from an accredited CAAHEP or diagnostic medical sonography program, or a minimum of 6 months of clinical experience.
  • Experience: Required - 6 months in a clinical environment; Preferred - 2 years.
  • Certification: Required - Registry eligible and BLS certified; Preferred - RDMS, RDCS, or RCS.
